d. On the course indicator 1,
course indicator 2, or com-
pass controller, rotate the
synchronizing knob to set the
scale dial on the course in-
dicator to a known heading
reference (declination).
NOTE
Either MAG mode (para 3-5) or DG mode (para 3-6)
may be used for the preflight operation.
