T h i s appendix lists components of end item and basic issue items
for the APPS to help you inventory items required for safe and efficient
operation.

T h e Components of End Item and Basic Issue items are divided into
the following sections:
a.
S e c t i o n II. Components of End Item.

b . S e c t i o n I I I . B a s i c I s s u e I t e m s . These are the minimum essen-
t i a l items required to place the APPS in operation, to operate it, and
m u s t be with the APPS during operation and whenever it is transferred
b e t w e e n property accounts.
The illustrations will assist you with hard-
t o - i d e n t i f y i t e m s . T h i s manual is your authority to request/requisition
r e p l a c e m e n t BII, based on TOE/MTOE authorization to the end items.
EXPLANATION OF COLUMNS.

T h e following provides an explanation of columns found in the
tabular listings:
a . Column 1 - I l l u s t r a t i o n Number (Illus Number). This column
i n d i c a t e s the number of the illustration in which the item is shown.
b . Column 2 - National Stock Number.
Indicates the National
stock number assigned to the item and will be used for requisitioning
purposes.
c . Column 3 - D e s c r i p t i o n .
I n d i c a t e s the Federal item name and,
i f r e q u i r e d , a minimum description to identify and locate the item. The
last line for each item indicates the FSCM (in parentheses) followed by
the part number.

Column 4 - Unit of Measure (U/M).
I n d i c a t e s the measure used
i n pe r f o r m i n g th e a c t u a l o p e r a t i o n a l / m a i n t e n a n c e fu n c t i o n .
This measure
is expressed by a two-character alphabetical abbreviation (e.g. ea, in,
pr).

Column 5 - Q u a n t i t y r e q u i r e d ( Q t y r q r ) . I n d i c a t e s t h e q u a n t i t y
o f the item authorized to be used with/on the equipment.
